ERP Project Management

This documentation outlines the functionalities and components of the Project Management module within our ERP system.

Project Details​

Projects Table​

The projects table stores information about different projects within the organization.

Fields:​

  • project_id: Unique identifier for the project (Primary Key)
  • project_name: Name or title of the project
  • start_date: Project start date
  • end_date: Project end date or expected completion date
  • project_manager: Name of the project manager overseeing the project
  • status: Current status of the project (e.g., planning, in progress, completed)

Project Tasks​

The system manages individual tasks associated with projects.

Fields:​

  • task_id: Unique identifier for the task (Primary Key)
  • project_id: Foreign key referencing the associated project
  • task_name: Name or title of the task
  • description: Description of the task
  • assignee: Person or team responsible for the task
  • due_date: Deadline or due date for completing the task
  • status: Current status of the task (e.g., not started, in progress, completed)

Resource Management​

Resource Allocation​

The ERP system allocates resources for project tasks.

Fields:​

  • allocation_id: Unique identifier for resource allocation (Primary Key)
  • project_id: Foreign key referencing the associated project
  • task_id: Foreign key referencing the associated task
  • resource_id: Identifier for the allocated resource (e.g., employee ID, equipment ID)
  • start_date: Date when the resource allocation starts
  • end_date: Date when the resource allocation ends

Gantt Chart​

The system generates Gantt charts for visual project scheduling.

Fields:​

  • chart_id: Unique identifier for the Gantt chart (Primary Key)
  • project_id: Foreign key referencing the associated project
  • task_id: Foreign key referencing the associated task
  • start_date: Start date for the task on the Gantt chart
  • end_date: End date for the task on the Gantt chart
  • duration: Duration of the task on the Gantt chart

Budget and Cost Management​

Budget Tracking​

The system tracks project budgets and expenses.

Fields:​

  • budget_id: Unique identifier for the budget (Primary Key)
  • project_id: Foreign key referencing the associated project
  • total_budget: Total budget allocated for the project
  • expenses: Total expenses incurred for the project
  • remaining_budget: Remaining budget available for the project

Cost Estimation​

The system provides cost estimation for projects.

Fields:​

  • estimation_id: Unique identifier for the estimation (Primary Key)
  • project_id: Foreign key referencing the associated project
  • estimated_cost: Estimated cost of the project
  • cost_breakdown: Detailed breakdown of costs (materials, labor, etc.)

Collaboration and Communication​

  • Document Management: Stores project-related documents and files.
  • Collaboration Tools: Enables team collaboration through chats, forums, or shared spaces.
  • Notifications and Alerts: Notifies stakeholders about task updates, deadlines, or changes.
